Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a psycho-social intervention with the goal of improving mental health. Utilizing CBT techniques, Dr. Jones will assist you in recognizing automatic thoughts and cognitive distortions which may lead to disturbing feelings/catastrophizing, emotional dysregulation, and disruptive/self-defeating behaviors. Dr. Jones received training and certification in CBT under Aaron T. Beck who has been referred to as “the father of cognitive behavioral therapyā€¯. Dr. Jones routinely combines therapy types, for maximum effectiveness and to most benefit her clients.
